Could sound isolation create a better wireless speaker?

The best housewares products make our homes comfortable, stress-free places to live. In some cities, background noise can reach 70 decibels, or the equivalent of standing next to a running vacuum(1). In many households, speakers and other devices only contribute to this problem.

Dôme is a pendant lamp that uses sound isolation to create an isolated zone of sound and light, addressing noise and privacy issues in the home.

Seamless function

Users own many different kinds of devices and expect them to perform many different functions. The chosen solution must work invisibly with many different technologies.

Flexible spaces

Like their devices, people now expect their living spaces and furniture to perform multiple roles. The solution must be effective at reducing noise in many different positions and locations in a living space.

Reduce noise

Research shows that there are two effective ways of reducing noise in a space: reduce the source of the noise or create a barrier between the subject and the noise source.
